Shilajit Gold+ Capsules and Resin by 5 Rivers Nutrition on a deep green and gold background

90-Day Shilajit Challenge: What to Expect (An Honest Founder's Account)

In Short

What to expect from 90 days of Shilajit Gold+

  • The result may be modest, inconsistent or absent.
  • Sleep, food, stress and exercise continue to matter more than any single serving.
  • A flat week is not a reason to increase the amount.
  • Choose Capsules or Resin. Do not routinely combine both.
  • The whole formula counts — not only the shilajit milligrams.
  • Some people should not take this product at all.

Most shilajit articles begin with a number.

250mg. 500mg. 1,000mg. Beginner dose. Advanced dose. Maximum performance.

This one begins somewhere different: with 90 days of taking one product consistently, recording what happened honestly and accepting that the result might not be impressive enough to publish.

I am Aman Singh, founder of 5 Rivers Nutrition. I sell Shilajit Gold+. That does not mean I should describe every outcome as positive.

This article documents what I actually noticed, what disappointed me, what the Ayurvedic framework taught me about patience and what I now believe every customer should read before their first serving.

Why I Committed to 90 Days

My motivation was not a serious health problem.

It was the feeling that my daily routine had become inconsistent. I was dealing with afternoon energy dips, reliance on coffee to stay productive, variable sleep, high work-related stress and irregular meals. None of those concerns should be presented as conditions that shilajit was intended to treat.

The question I wanted to answer was simpler:

What happens when I use one properly measured Shilajit Gold+ format consistently for 90 days — without changing the dose, stacking products or treating every normal fluctuation as a result?

I did not want to take it for three days, notice something vague and write a testimonial. I wanted to follow one stable routine, observe tolerance, record changes honestly and accept that I might notice no meaningful difference.

Why 90 days? Ninety days is long enough to observe a routine across busy weeks, quieter periods, travel, stress and normal fluctuations. Some human shilajit research has also used 90-day protocols — but those studies involved particular preparations and defined research outcomes. They do not prove that everyone will experience a benefit by day 90, or that Shilajit Gold+ produces the same outcomes.

I chose 90 days as an observation period. Not as a guarantee.

My Exact Daily Routine

For the full 90 days, I used the Shilajit Gold+ Capsules.

I chose Capsules rather than Resin because the fixed serving made the routine easier to keep consistent. With Resin, the amount can vary depending on temperature, texture and how much remains on the measuring tool. Capsules removed that variable.

My routine was:

  • 2 Shilajit Gold+ Capsules, once daily
  • Taken together, with breakfast
  • With a full glass of water
  • Normally between 8am and 9am

The serving never changed. I did not increase the Capsules, add Resin on difficult days, take extra before exercise or double the amount after a missed day.

When breakfast was delayed, I waited and took the Capsules with my first proper meal. I did not take them on an empty stomach simply to maintain an exact clock time.

If I missed a day, I resumed the normal routine the following morning. A missed serving is not a dosage debt.

The rule I followed throughout:

The routine became more consistent across the 90 days. The dose never became larger.

What Ayurveda Actually Says About Rasayana

Shilajit is traditionally described as a Rasayana — but Rasayana does not simply mean taking a substance every morning and waiting for an instant effect.

Academic reviews of the classical tradition describe Rasayana as a wider rejuvenative framework involving appropriate preparation, dosage, diet, conduct, routine and individual suitability. It includes medicines, dietary regimens, health-promoting behaviour and lifestyle practices — not a product acting independently of the rest of life.[1]

The traditional question is therefore not only: What did the shilajit do?

It is also: Was the amount appropriate? Was it suitable for this person? Was digestion comfortable? Were sleep and daily habits supportive?

Is 90 days an Ayurvedic rule? No. Ayurveda supports consistency and observation, but it does not establish one universal 90-day shilajit course for every person. Classical Rasayana protocols vary according to the individual, the substance, digestive capacity, age, season and the practitioner's assessment.

The most useful Ayurvedic principle for this challenge was Mātrā — the appropriate measure.

Samyak Mātrā

The appropriate measure is not the amount that produces the strongest sensation. A plateau is information, not an instruction to escalate.

The concept of Āchāra Rasayana goes further — treating appropriate conduct and disciplined living as part of rejuvenative practice, not merely an optional background to a product. Late nights still mattered. Rushed meals still mattered. No Capsule could compensate for every poor habit.

The Ayurvedic framework did not tell me what I would feel by week four, eight or thirteen. It gave me a better set of questions. And it gave me a reason not to judge a Rasayana by one exciting day or one disappointing week.

Important: Traditional classification is historical context, not modern clinical proof. The article should not be read as claiming that the Capsules balanced Doshas, increased Ojas or removed Ama. Those would require individual Ayurvedic assessment and still would not constitute clinical evidence.

The Honest Week-by-Week Timeline

Weeks 1–2: Almost Nothing

The first two weeks were uneventful. I took the Capsules with breakfast, recorded the day and usually felt much the same as before.

On day three, I felt slightly more alert after lunch — but I had also slept for almost eight hours the night before. I did not count that as a product effect. On day five, I felt tired by 3pm and had another coffee.

One morning in week two, I experienced mild stomach discomfort after a rushed breakfast and strong coffee. It did not repeat. I recorded it but could not confidently attribute it to the Capsules.

At the end of two weeks, my honest conclusion was: I had established the routine, but I had not noticed a reliable benefit.

Weeks 3–4: The First Possible Pattern

During week three, some afternoons felt slightly steadier. Not energised — just less tempted to stop work at 3pm. I sometimes delayed my second coffee. I recorded approximately three reasonably steady afternoons and four ordinary or tired ones.

One of the better afternoons followed seven and a half hours of sleep, a proper breakfast and a lighter workload. One of the worst followed less than six hours of sleep. The Capsules did not override poor sleep.

By day 28: there might have been a small improvement in afternoon steadiness, but it was not consistent enough to separate from sleep, food and workload.

Weeks 5–6: The Clearest Period

Weeks five and six were the most noticeable early part of the challenge. The change was not a large increase in energy. It was a reduction in the number of days when I felt completely drained by mid-afternoon.

Before the challenge, I had estimated my afternoon energy at around 4 out of 10 on many working days. During weeks five and six, it more often felt closer to 5 or 6 out of 10. Fewer sharp crashes. Slightly less dependence on a third coffee. More willingness to complete a short workout after work.

I still experienced tired days. After one late night, my energy was poor from the moment I woke up. The Capsules did not change that.

Weeks 7–8: The Flat Period

Week seven felt similar to my starting point. Several afternoons included familiar tiredness, reduced concentration and another coffee. There was no clear progression from the previous weeks.

This was the point when I considered stopping. Not because of a serious side effect — because of uncertainty. I wondered whether the changes during weeks five and six had been caused by the Capsules, improved sleep, a quieter workload or expectation.

I decided to complete the planned 90 days because the serving remained well tolerated, I had not exceeded the label and stopping during one flat week would make the record less useful.

The principle that kept me going:

A plateau is not an instruction to take more. It is a reason to look more carefully at sleep, meals, caffeine and workload.

Weeks 9–10: The Routine Became Background

By week nine, taking the Capsules had become part of breakfast. I no longer needed to think carefully about remembering them. There were entire days when I forgot I had taken it until I completed the evening record.

The main possible change remained afternoon steadiness. I was still tired on demanding days, but I experienced fewer occasions when productive work felt impossible by 3pm.

Weeks 11–13: Reviewing the Pattern

During the final weeks, I stopped looking for a dramatic moment and reviewed the full record instead. The clearest possible difference was not a surge in energy. It was that some working afternoons felt more even.

Sleep did not improve reliably. Stress remained largely unchanged. Digestion was broadly similar. Exercise completion improved slightly — but improved scheduling may have contributed as much as the product.

What I Noticed — and What I Did Not

Area Starting point Day 90 observation Confidence
Afternoon energy ~4/10 on many days Modest improvement on some days Low — lifestyle factors also changed
Caffeine use 2–3 drinks daily Often comfortable with 2 Low — not a controlled reduction
Sleep Variable, ~6–7 hrs No reliable improvement No change observed
Stress High business load No clear reduction No change observed
Digestion Occasional heaviness No major change No change observed
Exercise motivation Inconsistent Slightly more sessions Low — scheduling also improved

The most honest result was not that every week became better. It was that a small pattern appeared, disappeared, returned and remained vulnerable to poor sleep, stress and normal life.

"After 90 days, I noticed a modest improvement in some afternoons, but there were also flat weeks, ordinary days and no clear change in sleep, stress or digestion — and another person may notice nothing at all."

That is the sentence a competitor may never publish. It is the most honest one I can write as someone who sells the product.

The 12 Most Common Shilajit Mistakes

Based on recurring customer questions and public discussions, these are the mistakes I wish people had avoided before starting.

1. Combining Capsules and Resin

Owning the Bundle does not turn two separately dosed products into one combined daily serving. The Capsules are a 12-in-1 formula. The Resin is a 6-in-1 formula. Combining full servings means combining two complete formulas with overlapping ingredients including Shilajit, Ashwagandha, Curcumin and Black Pepper.

2. Increasing the serving because nothing is felt

Not feeling an immediate sensation does not prove the serving is insufficient. The label tells you how to use the product. It does not guarantee what you will feel or when.

3. Resin portion creep

A "pea-sized" portion sounds simple, but it can gradually become a large scoop without a conscious decision — because the first amount looks too small, the Resin stretches, or some stays on the measuring tool. Use the verified label and supplied measuring tool consistently.

4. Expecting a guaranteed 90-day timeline

Ninety days does not create a deadline by which you must feel a benefit. Someone may notice a modest change, an inconsistent change or no meaningful change. All three are possible outcomes.

5. Taking it without food despite discomfort

If the product repeatedly causes digestive discomfort, do not reinterpret that reaction as proof that it is working. Take the Capsules with food and water.

6. Doubling after a missed day

A missed serving is not a dosage debt. Skip it and resume the normal labelled amount. Do not take four Capsules or combine both formats to compensate.

7. Ignoring the rest of the formula

Read the whole label before reading the shilajit milligrams. Someone already taking Ashwagandha, Curcumin, Zinc or a multivitamin may be duplicating several ingredients without realising it.

8. Continuing through side effects

Observation is part of responsible use. Ignoring the observation defeats the purpose. Nausea, diarrhoea, reflux, dizziness, headaches or unusual restlessness are not detoxification. Stop and assess.

9. Changing too many things at once

If you begin Shilajit Gold+ while also changing caffeine, diet, exercise and several other supplements, you cannot tell which change contributed to any difference you notice.

10. Copying a dose from a study or influencer

A research dose shows what was tested within one defined protocol using a specific preparation. It does not override the verified label of a different multi-ingredient finished product. Do not copy the largest amount you find online.

11. Assuming natural means medication-safe

Laboratory testing can describe aspects of the submitted sample. It does not prove compatibility with every prescription medicine, health condition or individual response. Show a pharmacist the complete ingredient label — not only the word shilajit.

12. Treating laboratory testing as a safety guarantee

Quality testing and personal suitability are different questions. Testing may provide useful information about the tested sample. It does not replace individual assessment.

The defining principle

Most shilajit mistakes begin when the customer stops treating the label as the limit and starts using expectation, sensation or online advice as the dose.

The Questions People Ask at 11pm

Most dosage mistakes become frightening after the serving has already been taken. The customer is no longer asking how shilajit works. They are asking whether they have taken too much, whether a symptom is serious or whether the formula conflicts with something else.

The questions below reflect recurring public concerns. They are not diagnoses or substitutes for urgent medical care.

The late-night question What to do now What not to do
I may have taken too much Take no more, keep the label, seek advice if concerned or symptomatic Do not induce vomiting or improvise a detox
I combined both formats Stop for the day, review both complete ingredient lists Do not add only the shilajit milligrams together
I feel an unexpected symptom Stop further servings, assess severity, retain packaging Do not call it detoxification
I use medication Keep prescribed medicine unchanged, ask a pharmacist to review the full label Do not rely on a two-hour gap as a solution
I may be having an allergic reaction Call 999 for breathing difficulty or swelling of the mouth, tongue or throat Do not wait for a customer support reply
I missed a serving Resume the normal routine the following day Do not double the next serving
I feel nothing Stay at the labelled serving Do not take more to chase a feeling
I am pregnant or breastfeeding Stop immediately, speak to your midwife, pharmacist or GP Do not continue at a smaller serving

Who Should Not Take Shilajit Gold+

Shilajit Gold+ is not suitable for everyone. A smaller serving does not remove a contraindication.

Do Not Use

  • Pregnancy
  • Breastfeeding
  • Under 18
  • Known allergy to any listed ingredient
  • Previous suspected serious allergic reaction
  • Hormone-sensitive prostate cancer (without oncology approval)
  • Haemochromatosis, iron overload, gout or persistently high uric acid
  • A clinician has previously advised against an ingredient

Do Not Start Until Professionally Reviewed

  • Any regular prescription medicine
  • Thyroid disease or thyroid hormone medication
  • Autoimmune disease or immunosuppressant treatment
  • Liver or kidney disease
  • Planned surgery (stop at least two weeks before)
  • Fertility treatment, hormonal contraception or HRT
  • Trying to conceive
  • Several overlapping supplements
  • Unexplained persistent symptoms

Stop and Seek Advice

  • New or worsening symptoms after starting
  • Repeated digestive disturbance
  • Unusual drowsiness, restlessness or significant change in heart rate
  • Yellow skin or eyes, dark urine or pale stools (seek prompt medical assessment)
  • Suspected medicine interaction
  • Accidental excess or use of both formats

As a founder, I need to be comfortable saying no. If the right answer is that the product is not suitable, I would rather lose the order than turn uncertainty into reassurance.

We do not turn an exclusion into a sale by suggesting a smaller serving, another format or a trial period.

The Dosage Chart — How to Use It

This chart is a decision tool, not a milligram target. Use it in five steps.

Product Format Formula Verified serving Taken with
Shilajit Gold+ Capsules Capsule 12-in-1 As per current physical label Food and water
Shilajit Gold+ Resin Resin 6-in-1 As per current physical label Food and water

Do not add the two rows together. Where the physical label and website differ, pause and contact 5 Rivers Nutrition rather than guessing.

Step 1: Choose your product row — Capsules or Resin. Not both.
Step 2: Confirm the physical label matches the serving, ingredient list and warnings shown here.
Step 3: Check your complete supplement stack for duplicated ingredients.
Step 4: Use one format. Do not routinely combine both.
Step 5: Observe without escalating. A flat period is not a reason to increase the serving.

Check Before You Take

Before your first serving, you should be able to answer all of the following:

  • Am I using the Capsules or the Resin?
  • What is the verified serving for that exact product?
  • What other ingredients are included in the formula?
  • Am I already taking any of those ingredients elsewhere?
  • Do I use regular medication?
  • Am I in a group that should avoid the product or seek professional advice?
  • Am I taking more because I expect an immediate feeling?
  • Have I accidentally treated the Bundle as one combined daily serving?

If you cannot answer those questions, do not increase or combine anything.

The single most important action

Read the whole label before reading the milligrams.

The 5 Rivers Nutrition Position

A typical shilajit dosage page often gives readers a broad scale: beginner dose, standard dose, advanced dose, maximum-performance dose. It may encourage customers to increase according to body weight, take more for faster results or combine Resin and Capsules.

This article visibly rejects that approach.

  • There is no "advanced-user" serving.
  • Body weight does not create a new dosage.
  • A study dose is not a personal instruction.
  • More product means more of every ingredient.
  • Laboratory testing does not make unlimited use appropriate.
  • Consistent use does not guarantee a result.
  • An immediate sensation is not the measure of effectiveness.
  • Some customers should not take the product at all.
  • Losing an unsuitable sale is better than giving unsafe advice.
"We will not use a dosage chart to help you find the largest amount you can take. We will use it to help you understand the exact product you own, follow its verified serving and recognise when it may not be suitable for you."

When someone asks how much shilajit to take, it is tempting to answer with one number. But one number cannot tell you which product they own, what else is in the formula, what medicines they take or how they respond.

Ayurveda describes this as Samyak Mātrā: the appropriate measure rather than the maximum measure. For us, that means giving customers enough information to use the product responsibly — and being honest when the correct advice is not to use it.

Ready to choose a format?

Choose based on the formula and the way you can use it accurately — not which product appears stronger.

  • The Capsules provide a fixed daily serving within a broader 12-in-1 formula.
  • The Resin contains fewer companion ingredients but requires consistent manual measurement.
  • Neither format should be combined with the other as a routine daily serving.
  • Neither product guarantees an immediate or specific result.

Stop and Check

Do not take another serving until you have obtained appropriate advice if:

  • You accidentally took substantially more than the label
  • You combined full servings of both formats
  • You develop a significant or worsening reaction
  • You discover duplicated ingredients across several products
  • You use medication that has not been reviewed
  • The physical label conflicts with the website
  • You belong to a group advised not to use the product

Seek urgent medical help (call 999) for: breathing difficulty · swelling of the face, mouth or throat · collapse · severe pain · persistent vomiting · another serious or rapidly worsening reaction.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take for shilajit to work?

There is no guaranteed timeline. Some people notice modest changes within a few weeks. Others notice nothing across 90 days. Lifestyle factors including sleep, food and stress continue to have a major influence on any day-to-day difference.

Should I take Shilajit Gold+ Capsules and Resin together?

No. Choose one format per day. The Capsules are a 12-in-1 formula and the Resin is a 6-in-1 formula. Combining full servings of both means combining two complete formulas with overlapping ingredients.

What should I do if I feel nothing after taking shilajit?

Stay at the labelled serving. An absent sensation is not evidence that the amount is insufficient. Do not increase the serving, switch formats or combine both products.

Who should not take Shilajit Gold+?

Do not use during pregnancy, breastfeeding or if under 18. Do not use with a known allergy to an ingredient, hormone-sensitive prostate cancer, haemochromatosis or gout. Anyone taking regular medication, with thyroid or autoimmune disease, liver or kidney disease, or planning surgery should seek professional review before use.

Is it safe to take shilajit with medication?

Do not assume compatibility. Show a pharmacist the complete Shilajit Gold+ ingredient label before starting. Do not stop or alter prescribed medicine to accommodate a supplement. Incomplete evidence is not proof of compatibility.

What is the correct dose of Shilajit Gold+ Capsules?

Follow the verified serving on the current physical label. Do not copy doses from studies, influencers or other products. The Capsules are a 12-in-1 formula — taking more means taking more of every ingredient, not only shilajit.
